We’re proud to present our sixth vintage of Aviatrix Grenache! Grenache has been our signature wine for Aviatrix since the brand launched in 2016. We have produced Grenache from a variety of different vineyard sites over the years, always searching for the best quality fruit, while keeping our elegant, light-medium weight style in mind. Starting in 2021, we chose a new vineyard source in Bennett Valley in Sonoma County. This beautiful high-elevation site has gravelly soils and gets afternoon sun for nice ripening, producing amazing flavors in this Grenache.
Tasting Notes:
Medium ruby in color with exotic aromatic layering rising from the glass. Lifted fruit notes of raspberry, red plums, and bright cherry are joined with intriguing notes of orange zest, black pepper, and savory herbs. Across the palate it’s lively, silky and exciting. Flavorful without being heavy - it has medium body with good balance and length. Tannins and oak are smooth and barely detectable, adding body and character in a harmonious sipping experience. A delicious and oh-so-loveable expression of Grenache.
Aviatrix is a collaboration between La Sirena winemaker/owner Heidi Barrett and her two daughters, winemaker Chelsea Barrett, and sales/marketing director Remi Barrett. Aviatrix is dedicated to the intrepid women throughout the history of aviation, who surpass society's expectations and limitations to soar to new heights. We hope you enjoy this mother-daughter collaboration as much as we enjoyed making it.
